DoD IUID Registry Updates

The DoD IUID Registry passed 6 million items April 17 when Harris Corporation submitted a radio set via Wide Area Workflow. As the IUID Registry continues to grow, updates to the Registry will be added to increase functionality and user friendliness.

Changes made with IUID Registry Version 4.0, released March 31, 2009, include:

Warranty
The Registry now captures more information relating to an item’s Warranty, in addition to the Yes/No Indicator and the Indicator Date. If an item has a Warranty, the Award Instrument (contract information) is required and stored, as is the Warranty Event (acquisition, rollover).

Rollover
The Registry has added features that allow the user to update an item’s Part or Batch/Lot Number Rollover. Previously captured with a Part Number Update, the Registry will now capture a Part Number Rollover, as well as Batch or Lot Rollovers. The user will also have the ability to add a new Description to the Rollover, and register a Warranty.

Contact Section
A contact section has been added so Registry staff will be better able to contact XML submitters if there is a problem with the submission. The contact section includes System UID.
