NATO Publishes "UID of Items Guide"
The NATO Allied Committee responsible for Lifecycle Management (AC327) in support of the Conference of National Armaments Directors (CNAD) has developed and recently published guidance for Unique Identification of Items. The document defines the approach for UID including:
- System Lifecycle Management processesIdentifying, Marking and Registering Items using the UII
- Enabling improvements to Asset Visibility, Data Exchange and Multinational Logistics
- Relationship with NATO Codification
- Sample Implementation details including Contract Language, Registry Content and Case Studies
Industrial Partners and Acquisition System/Program Managers are strongly encouraged to consider the positive impacts that can be leveraged by the adoption of UID, including Operations Logistics Chain Management, Configuration Management, System Lifecycle Processes, Data Exchange Standards and Asset Visibility to name a few benefits. UID Forum Update
Over 600 attendee’s have already registered – have you?
The next UID FORUM – September 7-9 in Orlando, FL will be at the Hilton Orlando. There are a LIMITED number of FUNDED Registrations
available to DoD personnel (must be a first time attendee). New this year, the UID Forum is leveraging the UID-related coursework at Defense Acquisition University to ensure a standard base of knowledge for UID Forum attendees in those sessions. To maximize the value of the training, all first time attendees should complete the following prerequisite courses associated with the sessions below, prior to the UID Forum:

- Session: Sept 7 - Contracting Basics

IUID Registry Update
In July, the IUID Registry Version 4.2 was released. Changes include:
- Offline Processing of Long Running Queries
- User Activity Query
- Accept Cage Codes Associated with DUNS + 4 as Prime Contract Identifier
- Corrections to Parent Acquisition Contract Data Flow Down to Embedded
- Procurement Instrument Search (API)
